Construction Worker Killed in Collapse in Maine
A development employee was killed in Rockland, Maine on Saturday after a carport he’d been working with a crew to take away collapsed on him.
The Portland Press Herald reported that Kendall Ross, 37, of Rockland, had been working to take away a carport from a residence on Crescent Avenue when a beam supporting the construction that linked it to the home on the property collapsed after it was reduce round 8:20 a.m.
Emergency crews together with native hearth and police responded to the scene as calls had been put out to native contractors to see if an excavator might be introduced in to raise the construction, the Press Herald reported.
After an inflatable gadget typically used to raise heavy objects corresponding to vehicles was used to free Ross, who nonetheless had a faint pulse, in keeping with the Press Herald, he was transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Heart by way of LifeFlight of Maine. Ross was later pronounced useless, the Press Herald reported.
Corey Conway of Veteran Builders, the corporate Ross was working for, instructed the Press Herald that he’d reduce the ultimate beam connecting it to the home when it collapsed.
