Bangor Is Getting Its First Breast Milk Donation Center
BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Northern Mild Jap Maine Medical Middle is opening a breast milk donation middle because the U.S. continues to take care of a child formulation scarcity.
The hospital mentioned the breast milk middle will open Monday in partnership with a regional milk financial institution. It is the primary within the Bangor space.
A milk financial institution collects milk from moms who’ve greater than their infants want. There are a half-dozen different breast milk banks situated between Portland and Belfast.
The child formulation scarcity largely stems from a plant in Michigan, which the FDA shut down in February attributable to contamination points.
The Biden administration’s response requires importing international provides and utilizing the Protection Manufacturing Act to hurry home manufacturing.
