State police: CT man wielding knife who refused to leave property during eviction shot by trooper

A person wielding a knife who refused to go away a residence in Brooklyn throughout a court-ordered eviction was shot by a Connecticut State Police trooper on Tuesday.

Troopers assigned to Troop D in Danielson had been requested to help a state marshal with the court-ordered eviction of a tenant at 29 Tiffany Avenue in Brooklyn round 9:37 a.m. on Tuesday.

In accordance with state police, the tenant was reportedly refusing to vacate the premises.

Troopers on the scene reportedly informed dispatch that the tenant refused to adjust to the court docket order and was wielding a knife. A trooper then shot the person with their responsibility weapon, state police mentioned.

The person was transported by LifeStar helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Heart in Worcester, Massachusetts, the place he underwent surgical procedure and was listed in steady situation on Tuesday, in line with state police.

No troopers, state marshals or others within the space of the incident had been injured, state police mentioned.

The investigation into the officer-involved taking pictures might be carried out by the Workplace of the Inspector Basic assisted by detectives from the Connecticut State Police Main Crimes Unit Central District.
