Simsbury Firefighters Honored Via Renamed Road
SIMSBURY, CT — Motorists traveling through town will notice a new roadside marking where they are going, with local firefighters being feted as well.
State and local dignitaries were in Simsbury last week to officially dedicate a section of Route 185 as the “Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company Memorial Highway.”
The honor, finalized July 24 during a special ceremony, is in commemoration of the SVFC’s 80th anniversary, which is this year.
The ceremony was at the Simsbury firehouse on Hopmeadow Street
Specifically, the signs are visible along Route 185 between the Bloomfield town line and Hopmeadow Street.
