Picture Connecticut: A Bucket Of UFC

VERNON, CT — This week’s Picture Connecticut tour stop takes place high above Vernon, where two world-class mixed martial arts fighters had the ride of their lives this week.

It was Tuesday at the National Night Out event and former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira were on hand to help kick off Vernon’s “Connection Beats Addiction” campaign and meet with fans.

Before they departed back to the Danbury area, where they both now reside and train, they were invited to climb aboard a Vernon Fire Department ladder truck by chief Steve Eppler.

After being secured in the bucket, the two fighters took a ride in the sky with Eppler. Teixeira even managed to wave to fans, friends and family below.
