Man arrested after barricading himself inside North Haven home
A man has been arrested after barricading himself inside a home in North Haven on Thursday, police said.
The police department said they responded to the area of Middletown Avenue near Montowese Avenue around 3 p.m.
Authorities said a man inside the home made threats to kill police and harm himself. Officers were able to get another person in the home out safely.
After six hours, police said the man, who was armed with multiple large knives, surrendered and exited the home.
The man faces charges including interfering with police and threatening. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation, and no injuries were reported.
Part of Montowese Avenue was closed but has since reopened. People were asked to avoid the area during the investigation.
