‘The Boston Boats’ the topic of historical society meeting

BELFAST — “The Boston Boats” is the subject for the Belfast Historic Society assembly Monday August 29, at 7 p.m., within the Abbott Room on the Belfast Free Library. Judith Frost Gillis, Orrington Historic Society president, will current a historical past of 4 of the steamships which plied the waters of Penobscot Bay and the Penobscot River offering speedy and protected transportation for each passengers and freight. 

The steamships Belfast, Camden, Rockland and Bangor might be featured. The SS Belfast, recognized regionally as The Boston Boat, served the Belfast to Boston route from 1909 to 1935. The presenter is hoping these in attendance will share their data or recollections about any of the 4 steamships.
