Red Sox prospect charges mound, sets off wild bench-clearing brawl

PORTLAND, Maine (WHDH) — A Boston Purple Sox prospect who performs for the Portland Sea Canines set off a wild bench-clearing brawl on Thursday night time.

The large brawl broke out as Boston’s Double-A affiliate squared off towards the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Portland’s Tyreque Reed charged the mound after Binghamton pitcher Marcel Rentería hit him with a pitch and began shouting at him.

Video of the incident confirmed Reed operating on the pitcher and touchdown a punch. Each dugouts then emptied and a swarm of gamers began wrestling close to the mound.

Rentería could possibly be seen curled up in ache on the infield grass as medical personnel handled him. He was pulled from the sport due an damage.

Reed and a fellow teammate have been ejected from the sport.

Portland went on to defeat Binghamton 12-5.
