Free things to do in Boston: an opera master class, a multidisciplinary debut, and cabaret, Vegas style – The Boston Globe
No matter how you’re feeling this week, there’s one thing we can agree on: Free fun is always a good deal. This week, find live cabaret, a multidisciplinary premiere, and a new festival celebrating Italian cultural contributions, hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Boston.
INSIDE YOUR MIND As part of the Opera Innovator Series, the Boston Lyric Opera and Boston Conservatory at Berklee will host a master class with bass vocalist Morris Robinson. The opera singer plays Ramfis in Verdi’s “Aida” as part of BLO’s 2024-25 season and will lead students in performing repertoire from “Silent Night,” “La Fille du Régiment,” “Der Freischutz,” “Don Pasquale,” “La Cenerentola,” and “Don Giovanni.” Nov. 12, 7-9 p.m. Free. Seully Hall, 8 Fenway. bostonconservatory.berklee.edu
COME TO THE CABARET Singer-songwriter Brian De Lorenzo brings his mid-century Vegas-inspired cabaret, “Sammy & Sinatra at The Sands,” to Club Café. The founding member of the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists premiered the act at CabaretFest! in Provincetown in June. The show pays homage to its namesake icons — Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra — featuring selections of their timeless tracks inspired by their headlining days at the Copa Room at the Sands Hotel and Casino. Nov. 12, 6:30-7:30 p.m. No cover. Club Café Napoleon Room, 209 Columbus Ave. clubcafe.com

Seller’s exhibit, “Hybridized Worlds,” blends traditional painting techniques and digital art to showcase “changes within society concerning women’s lives,” according to her artist statement. Nov. 16, 2-3 p.m. Free. Kingston Gallery, 450 Harrison Ave. #43. kingstongallery.com
