Boston to hold information session for potential artists to work on Copley Square park plan – The Boston Globe

The Metropolis of Boston will host an internet question-and-answer session subsequent week for potential candidates to the Copley Sq. redesign undertaking’s Name to Artists.

The Name to Artists presents alternatives for artists to create new, authentic public artwork for Copley Sq.. Town is in search of artists to be commissioned to create poetry, mild projections, paths, and a small sculpture sequence.

Two question-and-answer classes might be held Thursday at midday and at 6 p.m. through Zoom so folks can be taught extra about every alternative and tips on how to apply.

This initiative stems from the Metropolis of Boston’s One Boston Resilience Venture, which goals to construct connectivity and resilience throughout the town in reminiscence of the Boston Marathon Bombing.

The Name is open to all candidates over 18 years of age with a choice for artists who’ve expertise working with the undertaking’s themes of group solidarity, empathy, and acknowledgement of loss.

The deadline to use is 5 p.m. on Aug. 5.

To submit an software, artists are requested to incorporate an outline of their expertise, a written proposal, samples of their work, an annotated picture listing, a preliminary funds, and a range and inclusion plan.
