Sept 13 (Reuters) – Athletes could have the choice to register as non-binary within the 2023 version of the Boston Marathon, the Boston Athletic Affiliation (BAA) stated.

“Non-binary athletes who’ve accomplished a marathon as a non-binary participant throughout the present qualifying window (Sept. 1, 2021 by means of Sept. 16, 2023) could submit an entry software into the 2023 Boston Marathon,” BAA stated in a press release on Monday.

For non-binary athletes, the qualifying requirements would be the identical as these within the girls’s discipline, however the BAA added that the qualification occasions could be “up to date accordingly” in future races.
