Boston Celtics at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

The Boston Celtics (9-2) and Toronto Raptors (5-6) square off Friday in the in-season tournament with tip-off from Scotiabank Arena set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Celtics vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Celtics lead 1-0

The Celtics took down the Philadelphia 76ers 117-107 Wednesday without F Jaylen Brown and C Kristaps Porzingis. Both are questionable for Friday. F Jayson Tatum looks like the best player on the planet right now. He’s averaging 28.5 points, 8.8 boards, 4.1 assists and is shooting 51.6% from the floor and 39.8% from distance.

The Raptors were ripped apart by the Milwaukee Bucks 128-112 Wednesday. The Bucks were without F Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the Raptors still had no answer. F Pascal Siakam is averaging just 18.7 points this season, which is down from 24.2 last year.

Celtics at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 119, Raptors 105

Moneyline

I like the Celtics here whether Brown and/or Porzingis play. However, not at this price tag.

PASS and look to the spread.

Against the spread

The Celtics are 6-3-2 ATS, and the Raptors are just 5-6 thus far. Boston covered -8.5 a week ago with a 117-94 victory. Boston is averaging 119 points per game (5th), and Toronto is 26th with 108.5. Boston has won 5 meetings in a row, and they have covered this number in the last 2.

Take the CELTICS -7.5 (-105).

Over/Under

This is a fairly low total, but the Raptors have only scored 94, 102 and 93 in the last 3 meetings. Boston is averaging 119 by themselves this season, and we’ll need Toronto to top 100 to cash it. The Raptors have topped 100 in 4 of the last 5 games, and I’ll LEAN OVER 222.5 (-110).
