Boston beats Minnesota in overtime

Boston hosted Minnesota in the action on Saturday in what was expected to be a close game.

The game went into overtime and Boston prevailed. The final score was 4-3.

Boston’s Hilary Knight scored the game-winning goal.

Boston took the lead early in the first period, with a goal from Kaleigh Fratkin. Jamie Lee Rattray and Jessica Digirolamo assisted.

Boston’s Taylor Girard increased the lead to 2-0 in the first period, assisted by Shiann Darkangelo and Nicole Kosta.

The Minnesota players narrowed the gap to 2-1 late in the first when Brittyn Fleming scored, assisted by Liz Schepers and Claire Butorac.

Boston’s Alina Müller made it 3-1 late in the first, assisted by Loren Gabel and Hilary Knight.

One goal was scored in the second period, and Boston led 3-2 going into the third period.

Minnesota tied the score 3-3 with 53 seconds remaining after a goal from Kendall Coyne Schofield, assisted by Lee Stecklein and Grace Zumwinkle.

Just one minute later Knight scored, assisted by Megan Keller and Alina Müller, and decided the game.
