Alex Cora Rejoins Red Sox In Toronto

BOSTON (CBS) — Alex Cora has been away from the Purple Sox for almost every week after testing optimistic for COVID-19. He’ll be again on the Boston bench Wednesday evening because the Sox look to snap a four-game skid.

Cora has rejoined the workforce in Toronto, the skipper confirmed to WEEI’s Merloni and Fauria throughout his Wednesday afternoon interview, and all signs point to him managing Wednesday evening’s recreation towards the Jays.

Cora examined optimistic for COVID-19 simply forward of Boston’s 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays at Fenway Park on April 21. He needed to steer clear of the workforce, with Will Venable taking his place on the Purple Sox bench. Boston went 1-5 throughout Cora’s absence.

Boston has misplaced six of its final seven video games, and is simply 7-11 on the season. The Purple Sox have two video games remaining towards the Jays in Toronto earlier than taking part in three towards the Orioles in Baltimore.
