Wisconsin man gets life for killing grandparents
APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — A decide on Friday sentenced a Wisconsin man accused of fatally taking pictures his grandparents to life in jail.
The Appleton Publish-Crescent reported that Outagamie County Decide Mitchell Metropulos ordered 20-year-old Alexander Kraus to serve at the very least 40 years minus the three-and-a-half years he’s spent in custody earlier than petitioning for supervised launch.
Kraus pleaded responsible in 2020 to 2 counts of first-degree intentional murder in reference to the April 2019 deaths of 74-year-old Dennis Kraus and 73-year-old Letha Kraus on the couple’s residence in Grand Chute. Alexander Kraus was 17 years previous on the time of the homicides.
He tried unsuccessfully to persuade a jury throughout a June 2021 trial that he suffered from a psychological illness and couldn’t conform his actions to the legislation.
Kraus advised the decide earlier than he was sentenced that he beloved his grandparents and that he was sorry.
First-degree intentional murder carries a compulsory life sentence.
