What did prized Wisconsin commit Baboucarr Ann average in 2025-26?

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball offseason has looked slightly different than normal through the month of June.

Head coach Greg Gard’s class of 2027 rounds out the month of June, featuring three high-profile high school talents. Headlined by four-star in-state sensation Jalen Brown, the class also features three-star center Jack Thelen and Baboucarr Ann, Minnesota’s No. 1 prospect for the class of ’27.

While 247Sports considers Brown the No. 70 player, No. 13 shooting guard, and No. 5 recruit from Wisconsin for the class of 2027, Ann’s status as a small forward is certainly comparable. The outlet’s composite ranking ranks Ann as the No. 63 overall player, No. 18 small forward, and top-rated recruit from his state, making the tandem one of the most prestigious duos to commit to UW in recent history.

247Sports’ director of scouting Adam Finkelstein had this to say about Ann in his recruiting profile:

“Ann is a long-armed, two-way wing who already has versatile tools and yet plenty of potential to keep improving for the foreseeable future… Ann is a long-armed, two-way wing who already has versatile tools and yet plenty of potential to keep improving for the foreseeable future.”

But how did Ann perform during his latest season with Maple Grove High School in Maple Grove, Minnesota?

Through 31 games, he averaged 18.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per appearance, according to StribVarsity. If Ann can provide even half of that production as a freshman, Wisconsin’s wing depth could look quite scary when he arrives in Madison.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office says its dispatch received the report of a crash at the intersection of County Highway A and Connors Bridge Road around 6:38 p.m. on June 27.

Upon arrival, authorities determined that a white Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on County Highway A when the UTV traveling northbound on Connors Bridge Road failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in a collision.

At the scene of the crash, authorities determined that the UTV driver, Gary Shreindel, 69, of Anoka, and two passengers – Constance Klatt, 68, of Anoka and Debra Nye, 69, of Lodi, Ohio – died as a result of the collision.

Following the crash, the pickup reportedly caught fire, but was extinguished without injury to the driver, according to the sheriff’s office.

2027 Wisconsin commit unexpectedly visits with prestigious SEC program

2027 Wisconsin commit unexpectedly visits with prestigious SEC program

Badgers’ Evan Flood recently had a chance to break down prized Wisconsin Badgers commit Yahzeen Zion’s visit to LSU.

In the NIL era, it’s incredibly hard for Luke Fickell’s squad to compete with an SEC program, let alone try and take down LSU.

Zion committed to the Badgers back on June 6. According to 247Sports, he’s had visits with Oklahoma, LSU, and Mississippi State since pledging his commitment to play in Madison.

Flood wrote (subscription required), “The trip was supposed to be cancelled, but Zion unexpectedly traveled to Baton Rouge.”

That said, Flood’s sources firmly believe Zion “has not been swayed.”

Knowing Zion chose the Badgers over prestigious programs like Georgia, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Auburn, among many others, it would be a tough pill to swallow if all of a sudden, now he decides he’d rather play elsewhere.
