A 17-year-old boy from Minnesota died and 4 different folks had been in vital situation after they had been stabbed whereas tubing down a Wisconsin river Saturday afternoon

SOMERSET, Wis. (AP) – A Minnesota teenager died and 4 different folks had been critically wounded after being stabbed whereas tubing down a Wisconsin river, authorities stated.

St. Croix County Sheriff Scott Knudson the victims and suspect, a 52-year-old Minnesota man, had been all on the Apple River when the assault occurred Saturday afternoon. Knudson stated investigators had been working to find out what led to the stabbings and whether or not the victims and suspect knew one another. They had been tubing with two totally different teams that included about 20 folks.

“We do not know but who was related to who, who knew one another or what precipitated it,” Knudson stated.

The knife assault occurred on a difficult-to-access part of the river close to the city of Somerset, Wisconsin, which is about 35 miles (56 kilometers) east of Minneapolis. The suspect was arrested about an hour and a half later whereas getting off the river downstream.

“Thank goodness a witness had taken a photograph of him,” Knudson informed the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “One other witness positioned him on the exit of the tubing space, the place he was taken into custody.”

A 17-year-old boy from Minnesota died. Two of the opposite victims had been flown to a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, and two others had been taken there by ambulance. All 4 surviving victims – a girl and three males all believed to be of their 20s – had been in vital situation.

The names of the victims and the suspect weren’t instantly launched, however St. Croix County jail information present a 52-year-old man was being held with out bond on suspicion of first-degree murder, 4 counts of aggravated battery and 4 counts of mayhem.
