Paula Kay (Davel) Fredrickson, a longtime author for The Dodgeville Chronicle, died on Might 15, 2022, following a short sickness. She was 76.

Fredrickson was born on Aug. 12, 1945, in Macon, Ga., to Paul Davel and Patricia (Foster) Davel. She was raised in Loyal, Wis., and studied journalism on the College of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

After faculty, she was employed by the Blanchardville Chamber of Commerce to put in writing tales about native companies. She started her 38-year newspaper profession with the Blanchardville Blade-Atlas, and went on to work for The Dodgeville Chronicle, The (Mineral Level) Democrat-Tribune, and the Pecatonica Valley Chief

Along with reporting on native enterprise and authorities, Fredrickson wrote a whole lot of characteristic tales chronicling the colourful historical past of the communities that she lined. Her interviews with World Conflict II veterans are thought of priceless to many space households.

A non-public service was held on Might 21 on the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville. The service could be considered by household and associates right here.
