Oak Creek Starbucks first to unionize in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – In a victory of 15-8 votes, the Oak Creek Starbucks Café is formally the primary and solely unionized Starbucks location in Wisconsin.
The employees at this Café requested for union recognition on February 11, and as of April 27, elected Staff United Worldwide Union as their consultant within the office.
“We’re so proud to be the primary union Starbucks in Wisconsin and hope much more shops will comply with in our footsteps! Working with them on this nationwide motion has been thrilling and we have now little question that they’ll assist us negotiate a contract that displays our values,” Hannah Fogarty, a pacesetter from the Oak Creek retailer mentioned.
Over 200 Starbucks places throughout America have filed for elections to be represented by Staff United. They may have the chance all through the spring to vote for this illustration.
In a letter signed by retailer staff to the earlier Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson about organizing their office, the employees mentioned “We’re proudly standing collectively 11 years later each as Starbucks companions and Wisconsinites to talk up for what we imagine in as a retailer and as a state.”
