WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – A strong geomagnetic storm (CME) arrived Monday afternoon and will continue into Monday evening, bringing the chance to see the Northern Lights to all of Wisconsin and farther south into the central part of the United States.

Skies will remain clear for Monday night, but there may be some light “contamination” from the Moon, until the moon sets just after midnight.

Best chances to see the lights are later Monday night, outside of city limits and away from any other light source … and give your eyes time to adjust.
