Kaukauna man named Northeast Wisconsin veteran of the year – Kaukauna Community News

KAUKAUNA — A longtime Kaukauna resident was honored Saturday because the Northeast Wisconsin veteran if the 12 months.

Military veteran Mike Weaver obtained the award from Rep. Mike Gallagher, “for his heroic service in the course of the Vietnam Conflict and his continued dedication to Northeast Wisconsin,” in keeping with a press release from the congressman.

Weaver, a longtime resident of Kaukauna, served as an Military medic incomes a number of medals and achievements, together with the Nationwide Protection Service Medal, the Vietnam Marketing campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal, in keeping with NBC26.

After he returned house, Rep. Gallagher’s workplace mentioned Weaver served as President of the Wisconsin Kiwanis, a Particular Olympics Fox Valley coach, and chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans Appleton Put up. Since his civilian retirement, he has volunteered quite a few hours with St. Paul Elder Providers helping veterans in hospice and end-of-life care.
