Wisconsin Watch and WPR are happy to announce that Jonah Chester has been chosen because the 2022-23 Mike Simonson Memorial Investigative Reporting Fellow.
A graduate of Indiana College’s Media Faculty, Chester is a storyteller who additionally likes to dive deeply into points — passions which have drawn him to investigative reporting.
The fellowship is called for award-winning Superior-based WPR reporter Mike Simonson, who handed away unexpectedly in 2014. The fellowship is a collaboration between WPR and Wisconsin Watch, providing journalists assets and mentorship in investigative journalism, enhancing and on-air manufacturing.
Chester previously labored for Public Information Service overlaying Wisconsin and for WORT group radio in Madison. He plans to give attention to transportation-related points throughout his yearlong fellowship embedded within the Wisconsin Watch newsroom.
In his three years in Wisconsin, Chester has gained 10 audio awards from the Milwaukee Press Membership and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Affiliation for investigative reporting, breaking information, ongoing protection, use of audio and different classes.
