South Dakota Youth Activism hosts protest for transgender, reproductive rights
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota Information Now) – A protest hosted by South Dakota Youth Activism rallied in Van Eps Park in downtown Sioux Falls Tuesday. Organizers and individuals protested to boost consciousness for various points, together with transgender and reproductive rights, in addition to gun security legal guidelines.
“We wish to let everybody know that this stuff are interconnected, and these are intersectional points. Meaning all of us need to be part of it, and all of us need to combat for a number of various things.” South Dakota Youth Activism Founder Elliott Morehead stated.
Joined by state lawmakers and advocacy organizations, the group is asking for modifications within the state to raised shield the rights of all people, in addition to share messages out about assets for these in search of assist.
“My coronary heart breaks for the trans-community right here in South Dakota, who proceed to be villified and used as a political pawn. I’m so sorry,” Rep. Kameron Nelson (D-Sioux Falls) stated. “No matter comes out of Pierre in the course of the legislative session, please know that there are assets for you. And I hope you lean on the folks which are right here immediately.”
These lawmakers promised to combat for these points in Pierre, and combat to make South Dakota a spot for all to dwell.
