South Dakota Army National Guard announces 2024 First Sergeant of the Year
PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A South Dakota Army National Guardsman has been recognized for his leadership and dedication.
Earlier this week, 1st Sergeant Adam Sanderson of the 155th Engineer Company was named the First Sergeant of the Year.
Senior leaders said Sanderson sets the standard for professionalism, mission success and care for his soldiers.
“1SG Adam Sanderson epitomizes what the Senior NCO at the company level should symbolize: professionalism to the core, competency in every decision, dedication to the team’s mission success, and caring for his soldiers beyond reproach,” said Senior Enlisted Leader for the SDNG Command Sgt. Maj. Marcus Stacey.
Originally from Wagner, Sanderson has served for 24 years and resides in Sioux Falls with his wife and kids.
