Crew Safe After Fighter Jet Slides off South Dakota Runway

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The crew of a South Dakota Air Nationwide Guard F-16 fighter jet that slid off the runway whereas touchdown at a Sioux Falls airport Wednesday afternoon is secure, authorities stated.

The jet from the 114th Fighter Wing overshot the runway at Joe Foss Discipline about 2:43 p.m. after getting back from a routine coaching mission. Emergency crews responded to the scene, in response to Guard officers.

Officers say they’re placing collectively an interim board to research the incident. No additional data was instantly accessible.
