Teen shot by officer investigating sound of gunfire in Ohio

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – An Ohio teenager was hospitalized following an officer-involved capturing. Police have been investigating after they heard photographs fired.

In accordance with Akron Police, officers have been patrolling round 6:30 p.m. Saturday once they heard a number of photographs fired. Officers drove to a house on Longview Avenue and approached the again to analyze.

Police say as officers approached the rear of the house, they encountered a number of male topics, not less than one among whom was armed with a handgun, WOIO reviews.

Through the encounter, one officer shot his department-issued weapon, putting a 16-year-old male suspect within the hand. Officers have been in a position to take the topic into custody with out additional incident.

The 16-year-old was later transported to Akron Kids’s Hospital in steady situation. His damage is taken into account non-life threatening.
