CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – An area of low pressure sits over eastern Kentucky this morning and tracking east.
It will be over New Jersey this evening.
It’ll be unsettled today with scattered showers and storms.
The better potential will be late morning and through the afternoon.
The issue we have working here is that any shower or storm that pulses up will be very slow moving.
This could result in locally heavy rain in spots.
Be prepared for this threat when travelling today.
The clouds will keep things cooler with most temperatures this afternoon in the 64 to 69 degree range.
A wind off of Lake Erie will also keep things cooler closer to the water.
We have the rain threat ending this evening.
Tomorrow looks dry with a cloudy morning followed by a clearing sky by afternoon.

A brazen porch pirate in Ohio was recently caught on home surveillance video stealing a package right in front of a FedEx delivery driver, who had set the box down on a doorstep just seconds earlier.
The theft unfolded right outside the home of Kyle Dorsch in northwest Columbus on June 3. Dorsch shared video of the incident on social media in the hopes of catching the thief.
“While we are home in the middle of the day – they didn’t wait for the delivery driver to leave the porch, they swooped in real quick and went off,” Dorsch told WSYX-TV.
Dorsch’s doorbell camera captured the moment a FedEx delivery drive set a small package on the porch and knocked on the door. Just as the delivery driver knocked, an unknown individual wearing a hoodie ran onto the porch, startling the driver, and grabbed the package.

When someone inside the home answered the door, the flabbergasted driver tried to explain what happened.

“He just took your package. I sat it down and I heard a movement,” the driver said.

Dorsch told WSYX-TV that the stolen package had contained an Apple Watch. The watches can cost upwards of $399, according to Apple’s website.

To deter porch thefts, police and experts recommend having the package delivered to a different drop-off location or having delivery services leave packages inside a locked drop box.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – The search continues for 8-month-old Miya Rudd of Reynolds Station, Kentucky. One of her grandparents and another man were arrested Sunday night.
Around 8:45 p.m., her grandmother, 49-year-old Billie J (Rudd) Smith, was arrested and charged with second-degree domestic violence assault.
Smith had an active warrant for her arrest since October 2023 from an incident in Daviess County. She was arrested and is now in the Ohio County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
Kentucky State Police said Miya was not with her grandmother.
In a later update just before 10 p.m., KSP said they arrested 37-year-old Timothy L. Roach of Owensboro. They said as they were entering the Smith residence’s driveway, they saw Roach throw unprescribed Suboxone under his vehicle. He was arrested along with Smith and is also in the Ohio County Detention Center.
Roach was charged with second degree possession of a controlled substance and first degree prescription controlled substance not in a proper container.
In another update on Sunday, KSP said that Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, and her grandfather Ricky Smith, are set to appear in the Ohio County District Court in Hartford Monday morning.
Anyone with information on Miya’s location can contact KSP at 270-826-3312.
The investigation is ongoing.

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) – Legal, recreational cannabis could be available to adults 21 and over across the state of Ohio in the near future.
On Friday, the Ohio Division of Cannabis control opened applications for dual-use licenses for cannabis dispensaries. Dual-uses licenses would allow existing medical marijuana dispensaries to start selling adult use cannabis to non-medical consumers.
According to Adam Goers, a senior Vice President with the Cannabis Company, which operates four dispensaries in Ohio including Columbia Care in Marietta, said dual-use applications opening could mean consumers will be able to buy non-medical marijuana sooner rather than later. “I’m certainly hopeful that on or around the end of this month that Ohioans 21 and up will be able to purchase adult-use cannabis by coming into the many dispensaries across Ohio, including ours in Marietta,” he said.
Though no dispensaries are selling adult-use cannabis yet, it’s been legal for adults to cultivate or own adult use cannabis in Ohio since voters passed Issue 2 in the general election last November.
