YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Mrs. Joyce Laverne Jones, 68, of Buford, Georgia, previously of Youngstown, Ohio transitioned to everlasting relaxation on Wednesday, Could 18, 2022.

Mrs. Jones was born August 7, 1953, in Youngstown, the youngest of three youngsters born to Rev. Jack and Saturnina “Tunie” Rosario Johnson.  

She lived most of her life on the “Sharon Line” and attended Thorn Hill and Science Hill Faculties; was a 1971 graduate of North Excessive Faculty and a 1975 graduate of Youngstown State College with double BA levels in Schooling and Particular Schooling. 

On January 15, 1979, she married Elliott Frank Jones. To that union two daughters have been born, Amber Celeste and Alicia Lynn.

Joyce cherished being a Particular Schooling instructor and was employed with the Youngstown Metropolis Faculty System, retiring after 35 years of service.  

She spent her childhood and most of her grownup years as a member of Value Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church and served in numerous ministries together with, Youth Director, Trip Bible Faculty instructor, CTT-Grownup Choir. Joyce loved attending Bible Examine and was the occasion planner for journeys to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was additionally a devoted member of Rising Star Baptist Church for 17 years.  Whereas at Rising Star, she served within the choir, was a Youth and Grownup Sunday Faculty and Trip Bible Faculty Trainer.  She was a faithful Deaconess, Know-how Staff member, Church Council member and Bible Examine participant.  She cherished youngsters and was a van driver for YBS and VBS, and a board member of Open Door Christian Academy.  She cherished know-how, health, touring and most of all consuming out and spending time with household and pals.

She leaves to mourn her lovely reminiscences, however to rejoice in her everlasting peace, her youngsters, Amber (Daryl) Jackson of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and Alicia (Christopher) Conwell of Buford, Georgia; a step daughter Tiffany Jones of New York, New York; a foster daughter Jackie Stewart of Youngstown, Ohio; her brother, Jack (Sheryl) Johnson of Medina, Ohio; six grandchildren, Mya and Jada Jackson, Hailey, Quinn, Alexandria, and Christian Conwell; and a number of other nieces and nephews, together with Ryan Prater, Jordan Slade, Courtney McEachern; James Crawley, Lesley Crawley , Courtney Johnson, Damien Jones, Adriene Jones, and Autumn Jones and a number of different household and pals.

Along with her mother and father, Joyce was preceded in dying by her husband, Elliott, who handed away in 2004; and a sister, Sandra Prater-Johnson who handed away in 2005.

Visitation will likely be Saturday, Could 28, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on the Value Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church.  Funeral companies will observe at 10:00 a.m.   As a result of pandemic, all friends are requested to put on masks and observe social distancing.
