Deborah Marinksi named interim dean of OHIO Southern

Ohio College Government Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs has introduced that Dr. Deborah R. Marinski has been named because the interim dean of Ohio College Southern.

She replaces Dr. Nicole Pennington, who introduced in April her intention to step down as dean of OHIO Southern and government dean for Regional Greater Schooling in June and return to the nursing college.

Marinski at present serves as an affiliate professor of historical past and because the scheduling coordinator for OHIO Southern. She is going to start her position as interim dean of OHIO Southern on June 1, 2022, and can serve a one-year time period.

“Dr. Marinski brings deep data, expertise and experience to this place,” Sayrs stated. “I’m grateful for her willingness to steer the Southern campus over the following yr, and I’m wanting ahead to working along with her on this necessary position.”

Since becoming a member of OHIO Southern in 2014 as an assistant professor and a program coordinator, Marinski has held a number of roles for the College, together with as a College Senator, chair of the Ohio College Southern College Council and speaker for the Ohio College Southern Campus Graduate Recognition Ceremony.

She has acquired quite a few awards for her work, together with the 2019-2020 Excellent Defective Member in Instructing award for OHIO Southern, the 2013-2014 Excellent College Member in Service award for OHIO Southern, and the 2011-2012 Excellent College Member in Analysis award for OHIO Southern.

Previous to her time at OHIO, she served as a visiting assistant professor on the College of Toledo and in addition labored with Lourdes Faculty in Sylvania, Ohio, and the Lucas County Maumee Valley Historic Society.

Marinski earned her Ph.D. in American historical past from the College of Toledo. She additionally earned a grasp’s diploma in historical past and a bachelor’s diploma in historical past from the College of Toledo.
