The U.S. Division of Agriculture is investing $35 million in loans and grants to help photo voltaic initiatives, rural electrical cooperatives, and infrastructure hit by extreme climate in North Dakota.
USDA Rural Growth State Director Erin Oban introduced the recipients of the funding help Friday.
A $10,000 grant will go to Jamie Zins of McKenzie, who owns a woodworking store and can set up photo voltaic panels to help the enterprise.
An $11,000 grant will go to the Ulmer Ranch searching outfitting enterprise close to Flasher to put in photo voltaic panels.
A $13.8 million mortgage will help new energy strains and good grid applied sciences for KEM Electrical Cooperative, which is predicated in Linton and serves Burleigh, Emmons, Kidder, Logan and McIntosh counties.
The town of Napoleon will obtain a $590,000 mortgage and a $380,000 grant to switch sewer mains and set up a gravity outlet to deal with points with the town’s ageing clay pipes. The town can also be receiving a $480,000 mortgage and a $776,000 grant to switch its water tower.
