Students’ waterfowl artwork selected as ND state winners, move on for potential to become a national stamp

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – North Dakotans are large on their fish and wildlife conservation efforts. A program designed to show Okay-12 college students about its significance has chosen winners of their annual, nationwide artwork contest.

The Junior Duck Stamp Program was established in 1989 and is centered on an annual artwork contest encouraging college students to discover their pure world. Academics instructed members to pick out a local waterfowl to depict of their art work.

Judges chosen entries on the Audubon Nationwide Wildlife Refuge on March 30. They chose a winner from 4 totally different age teams.

At an awards ceremony held on the Heritage Middle in Bismarck on Could 6, first place winner Christopher Dunnigan stated profitable introduced out loads of emotions.

“Emotional. Emotional and excited,” stated fifth-grader Christopher Dunnigan.

All North Dakota profitable art work will probably be displayed throughout the state all year long at nationwide wildlife refuges, occasions, zoos, procuring malls, colleges, Fargo Scheels and different areas.

Plus, their art work will transfer on to compete towards winners from all 50 states, D.C. and 4 U.S. territories. The nationwide winner’s art work will probably be become a stamp.
