State Supreme Court: Pipeline Security Records Are Public
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The state Supreme Court docket has rejected a last-ditch try to preserve Dakota Entry Pipeline building safety information personal.
The Bismarck Tribune reported Thursday that the case entails paperwork the pipeline’s safety overseer, TigerSwan, gave to the state’s Personal Investigation and Safety Board throughout a dispute over whether or not the North Carolina firm operated illegally in North Dakota. That challenge was resolved in September 2020 when the corporate agreed to pay the board a $175,000 settlement.
The Intercept on-line information group sued in November 2020 to acquire the paperwork. The pipeline’s developer, Power Switch, has argued the paperwork are confidential.
