HORACE, N.D. — The Cass County Highway Department is set to begin phase two of the County Highway 17 project between 52nd Avenue South and Deer Creek Parkway South on Monday, July 24.

The highway will be closed in that area until Oct. 13, Cass County officials said in a news release.

The second phase of the project consists of replacing the bridge over the Sheyenne River on the highway, north of Riverdale Drive. Additional goals include completing an asphalt overlay in the area, Cass County officials said.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
