North Dakota Term Limits Committee files lawsuit to challenge disqualification of ballot measure

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – The North Dakota Time period Limits Committee has filed a lawsuit difficult a failed poll measure.

A petition with greater than 46,000 signatures that might have put the difficulty of time period limits on the November poll was invalidated by Secretary of State Al Jaeger earlier this 12 months.

Jaeger disqualified the measure, saying partially that some signatures have been “seemingly cast,” which the Bureau of Prison Investigation seemed into.

In a 491-page petition filed within the North Dakota Supreme Courtroom Friday, the North Dakota Time period Limits Committee stated the disqualification was a violation of authorized precedent that beforehand decided the signatures are legitimate if the signer has “considerably complied” with related statutes.
