North Dakota IT creates public safety team

BISMARCK — North Dakota Information Technology is announcing the creation of a new public safety team, which will be dedicated to enhancing the Statewide Interoperable Radio Network for first responders.

The team will be led by newly appointed Public Safety Manager Eric Pederson, according to a release from North Dakota Information Technology.

The Statewide Interoperable Radio Network is an essential communication system for first responders and plays a crucial role in serving and protecting citizens during emergencies, the release said. The network allows for coordination between public safety agencies.

“This initiative will not only empower our public safety agencies but also strengthen the collaboration between state, county, and municipal entities,” Craig Felchle, chief technology officer, said in the release.

Pederson has 26 years of experience, including a background in public safety technology and strategic management, the release said.
