BEULAH, N.D.. (KOLO) -A Mormon missionary from Ely was one of two who died Tuesday in a crash in North Dakota.

Jacob Kesler, 20, was a passenger in a sports utility vehicle that crashed near Beulah, North Dakota, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

Robert Gardner, 20, of Riveron Utah was driving, authorities said.

Traffic was backing up due to a car fire and the SUV crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer rig. Both died at the scene.
