Miss North Dakota participating in RRVF activities, doesn’t take role for granted
WEST FARGO (KFGO) – Miss North Dakota has a busy few days at this year’s Red River Valley Fair.
Sydney Helgeson was crowned Miss North Dakota last month, but she is also the reigning Miss Red River Valley. That reign will end Saturday when she crowns the new Miss Red River Valley, Miss West Fargo, and Miss Bonanzaville in the Miss West Fargo Scholarship Pageant.
Friday, Helgeson was a judge in the food vender contest and Sunday, she’ll be part of the Heroes Ceremony.
Helgeson said being Miss North Dakota is not something she takes for granted, and understands that people, especially little girls look up to her.
“I think it’s just important to hold yourself with grace and always have a smile on your face, treat people with kindness,” Helgeson said. “That’s really important for them to see older women doing.”
