MOORHEAD — Gas prices in the Fargo-Moorhead area are climbing and people are feeling the effects at the pump.

According to AAA, Fargo is averaging $3.69 per gallon, and Moorhead is averaging $3.79 per gallon as of Aug. 4.

Both of those are a more than 15 cents a gallon increase compared to the week prior.

But both cities are below the current national average of $3.83 per gallon.

Aidan Sers from Casselton, North Dakota, is a student in the process of moving back to Concordia College for the upcoming school year. He said the increase has him thinking more about his travel plans.

“I grew up on a farm, so coming into town to work is like noticing that it’s more expensive every run in. So I really have to plan out my time a lot more with the gas prices going up,” Sers said.

AAA also said heat is playing a big role in the increasing costs as it impacts output at oil refineries.
