Family emergency takes U.S. House candidate Rick Becker off campaign trail
BISMARCK — North Dakota U.S. House candidate Rick Becker is temporarily stepping away from the campaign trail for family reasons.
The Bismarck plastic surgeon and former state lawmaker posted on social media Friday afternoon that his son suffered a severe injury. He did not elaborate.
The post said Becker would return to campaigning “as soon as it is reasonable.”
Becker is one of five candidates vying for the Republican nomination in the June primary. Public Service Commissioner Julie Fedorchak, former Miss America Cara Mund, military veteran Alex Balazs, and Sharlet Mohr, a former school board candidate from Williston, are the other candidates.
