Dickinson Police Department mourns loss of veteran officer

DICKINSON — The Dickinson Police Division is in mourning following the demise of one in all their fellow cops. The division confirmed the demise of Sergeant Jason Wallace, on Saturday, Apr. 22.

“It’s with super disappointment that we announce the off-duty demise of Dickinson Police Sergeant Jason Wallace, who handed away at his dwelling within the late night hours of Friday, April 21, 2023,” a press launch stated. “Our division extends our deepest condolences to the Wallace household and all fellow first responders which are in an amazing state of damage and anguish. As we grieve to an extent we by no means have earlier than, our division stands with them as we journey via this era of darkness collectively.”
An official reason for demise was not launched.

Wallace was a nine-year veteran of the division, having beforehand labored as a journey agent earlier than starting his legislation enforcement profession with the Stark County Sheriff’s Workplace in 2011. His service with the Dickinson Police Division began first as a dispatcher earlier than being employed as an officer in 2014.
He was promoted to sergeant in 2019.

Wallace’s household have a tenured and revered legacy of public service, together with his father Dave Wallace, Sr., and mom, Sue Wallace, each having been legislation enforcement officers.
