Colorado College hockey defeats No. 1 North Dakota in overtime

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Friday night at “The Ralph” the Tigers started down 0-2 until Noah Laba scored his seventh goal of the season. That’s a team-high and it cut the deficit to one.

Then, with seconds left in the second frame the Tigers scored on a power play. Max Burkholder with the one-timer had the tigers has roaring back.

In the third period, CC was out-shot, 11-0. However, they would still survive to overtime thanks to goalie Kaiden Mbereko.

Finally, in OT and just 35 seconds in, Noah Laba took the puck coast to coast and beat UND goalie Ludvig Persson for the game winner!

This was CC’s first win against a No. 1-ranked team in the country since January 7, 2017 as the Tigers won 3-2 it’s their first win over UND in their last 15 meetings. These two play again Saturday, in Grand Forks, puck drops at 5pm.
