Canadian man pleads guilty in North Dakota for international fentanyl trafficking crimes

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – A Canadian man has pleaded responsible to federal expenses in North Dakota for being a member of a global fentanyl trafficking group.

Based on the North Dakota U.S. Legal professional’s Workplace, Jason Joey Berry, aka Daniel Desnoyers, now 39, with one other inmate who pleaded responsible to crimes in July, organized the distribution of fentanyl to the U.S. whereas incarcerated in a Canadian jail.

Friday, Berry pleaded responsible to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute managed substances leading to critical bodily damage and demise amongst different expenses.

A federal district courtroom choose will sentence Berry in January 2023. He faces a compulsory minimal sentence of life in jail.

Investigators say this case is part of “Operation Denial” which investigates worldwide trafficking of fentanyl and different deadly medicine. The investigation began after the overdose demise of Bailey Henke, an 18-year-old from Grand Forks.

There are 17 different defendants charged in federal courtroom within the district of North Dakota as a part of this investigation.
