Utah man caught with 5 pounds of fentanyl pills in Nebraska traffic stop, patrol says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Troopers seized thousands of fentanyl pills in a traffic stop Sunday in North Platte, the Nebraska State Patrol says.
Around 11 p.m., a trooper pulled over an SUV for not having headlights or taillights on Jeffers Street, just north of Interstate 80.
The trooper was suspicious of criminal activity and searched the vehicle, according to the patrol.
Inside, troopers found multiple bags of suspected fentanyl pills, weighing nearly 5 pounds, the patrol said. A handgun was also discovered.
The driver — 38-year-old Tyrone Cash of Utah — was arrested on suspicion of several felony drug charges.
