Nebraska sees 4-star edge defender decommit after visiting SEC program
Nebraska is again all the way down to 13 commitments in its 2023 recruiting class after a 4-star edge defender has backed off his pledge to the Cornhuskers.
Ashley Williams, a Zachary (Louisiana) standout, introduced Sunday that he has decommitted. Williams, who publicly pledged to Nebraska on July 10, cited a “lapse in communication” in a word shared to Twitter:
“I want to thank the College of Nebraska, Coach Scott Frost, and Coach Mickey Joesph to your effort and time throughout the recruitment course of. In gentle of latest occasions and lapse in communication, my household and I believe it’s finest that I decommit and refocus presently. I wish to specific my gratitude for each alternative and provides a particular shout out to Nebraska followers and Coach Joseph for his relentless efforts.”

Listed at 6-4, 215 kilos, Williams is the No. 18 Louisiana product, No. 37 edge defender and No. 350 prospect general nationally within the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite.
Williams’ decommitment comes after attending’s Auburn “Huge Cat Weekend” recruiting occasion.
