SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Missouri Division of Transportation needs feedback on an enchancment challenge for Chestnut Expressway.

The challenge will begin on the I-44 exit and can finish east of U.S. 65. It’s going to embody sign enhancements, sidewalks, and resurfacing at a value of almost $8 million. One of many most important priorities is pedestrian security.

“That features many pedestrian enhancements,” mentioned Mission Supervisor Kristi Bachman. “We’re placing in loads of audible push buttons on the signalized intersections, creating a brand new pedestrian mid-block crossing that’s signalized for pedestrians, and updating some Lane configurations out at route 65 and Chestnut for the southbound on-ramp.”
