Rare January tornado tears through eastern Iowa
WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa. – The system that introduced rain and snow to Minnesota Monday stirred up some extreme climate to our south.
A driver captured video of a twister crossing over Interstate 80 in Iowa Monday close to the city of Williamsburg, which is about 170 miles south of the Minnesota border.
The Nationwide Climate Service confirmed that the twister was an EF1, with as much as 90 mph winds.
There have been no reported accidents. This was the primary January twister in that space because the Sixties.
