The promotion was a part of the Wild’s “Hometown Heroes” sequence aimed toward celebrating Minnesota’s “particular group of regulation enforcement officers and dispatchers, firefighters, first responders, and frontline and important staff,” the staff’s web site reads. 

The skinny blue line shirts have been initially a part of the staff’s Legislation Enforcement Appreciation Night time Nov. 1, when the Wild host the Montreal Canadiens. As an alternative, public backlash has led to the Wild backing away from the concept.
