Central Minnesota crash kills 29-year-old woman

BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A 29-year-old Willow River girl died Wednesday, June 22, after her automobile crossed the centerline and struck a transit van pushed by a Brainerd man on Freeway 65.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash, reported at 1:11 p.m. in Brunswick Township in Kanabec County, south of Mora. In line with the report, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was northbound on the freeway when it crossed into the southbound lane close to Legend Road, putting a 2015 Ford Transit.

The driving force of the Pontiac, Rachel Pleasure Johnson, suffered deadly accidents within the collision. The driving force of the Ford, Gerald Nicholas Villella, 58, of Brainerd, suffered non-life-threatening accidents and was transported to Welia Well being-Mora Hospital.

The state patrol reported Johnson wore a seat belt and Villella didn’t. The street was dry on the time.

Aiding on the scene had been the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Workplace, the Mora Fireplace Division and Welia Ambulance.
