Kwanzaa celebrations continue in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – Kwanzaa celebrations proceed within the Twin Cities on Tuesday, which is day two of the seven-day vacation.
Kwanzaa celebrates African American tradition, with every day specializing in a unique theme. Tuesday’s theme is “Kujichagulia” or self-determination.
Two days of festivities are being held on the Midtown World Market in Minneapolis, hosted by the Cultural Wellness Heart. The spotlight of Monday’s celebration was a giant feast by a neighborhood meals artist.
The enjoyable continues on Tuesday, with extra signing, dancing, storytelling, meals and extra from midday to 4 p.m. The occasion is open and free to the general public.
Kwanzaa runs via Jan. 1, 2023.
