Dublin deal alert: $360 nonstop fares from Los Angeles and Minneapolis – The Points Guy
Ireland’s flagship airline is enticing U.S. travelers with deep discounts from a few U.S. cities to Dublin.
The latest fare sale from Aer Lingus offers nonstop fares from the West Coast and the Midwest — specifically, we’re talking about Los Angeles and Minneapolis — for as low as $360 round-trip. Most of the best fares are for travel during spring, but there is also some availability for discounted fares in late August and even up to October.
We’re already seeing the best prices disappear, especially for flights out of Minneapolis, so don’t sleep on this deal.
The prices in this sale are for economy fares. Aer Lingus’ economy-tier tickets come with a free carry-on bag. Checking luggage normally will cost you around $55 each way, except in this sale, you get the free carry-on and your first checked bag for free.

As mentioned above, the Minneapolis fares aren’t as easy to find in this deal. Still, we found this gem in early May: a nonstop itinerary from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Dublin Airport (DUB) for only $360 round-trip. This ticket gets you a carry-on and the first checked bag for free.
We found another great deal on the same route in May for $367 round-trip. Again, it includes a free carry-on and first checked bag. The sub-$400 fares are mostly gone for April, but you could still find a few in May.
The bargains were much easier to find out of LA. April was wide open, with a number of nonstop fares less than $400 available from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
This ticket in early April is just $370 — a big savings from normal prices. Again, this is for a nonstop flight, and you get a free carry-on and first checked bag gratis.
Maybe the best deal we found was this May route for just $372. Google Flights says this ticket normally costs $1,000 or more, so this is a tremendous deal.
We also found lots of available discount fares to Dublin in August. This itinerary is ideal for a college football fan who wants to see Florida State play Georgia Tech at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on Aug. 24. Even better, according to Google Flights, this $369 round-trip ticket is about a third of the normal price for this route.
Finally, there were many available tickets in this sale for travel in the fall. It’s tough to beat $370 nonstop round-trip tickets from LA to Dublin in October.

Woman sentenced in fatal Minneapolis crash
Big picture view:
Prosecutors say Teniki Steward drove a Buick Enclave into a bus shelter and a Ford Explorer after speeding through a red light.
Both of the women in the Ford Explorer died in the crash. They were identified as 53-year-old Ester Jean Fulks and 57-year-old Rose Elaine Reece.
During the crash, the Ford Explorer went off the road, injuring a 17-year-old boy who was waiting for a school bus.
The passenger in Steward’s vehicle also suffered injuries.
Minneapolis police said that Steward was also injured in the crash.
Steward pleaded guilty to multiple murder charges.
What they’re saying:
During the sentencing, the daughter of one of the victims had a statement read on her behalf:
“There’s nothing that can truly prepare you for the moment your entire world is taken from you. Losing my mom has left a pain in my heart that words will never be able to explain.”
What’s next:
Minnesota law requires that Steward serves at least two-thirds of her sentence, a bit under eight-and-a-half years, in prison.
Fatal Emerson and 26th crash
The backstory:
According to the criminal complaint, through surveillance videos from the scene of the crash and witnesses, investigators learned that Steward, driving the Buick Enclave, had been driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Emerson Avenue North.
Before the fatal crash, Steward sped through the intersection of Emerson Avenue North and Broadway Avenue North, running a red light and nearly causing a crash, the charges said.
Steward then continued to speed northbound down Emerson Avenue North, and ran another red light at 26th Avenue North, hitting the Ford Explorer, which was traveling eastbound, according to the complaint.
The Ford Explorer had been at the intersection of Emerson and 26th on a green light.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty shared the following statement:
“This was an egregious act that took Rose and Esther’s lives and injured a child waiting to go to school at a bus stop. Ms. Steward was driving at extremely dangerous speeds on city streets and narrowly avoided multiple collisions before the incident occurred. Third-degree murder charges are appropriate to hold her accountable and protect our community.”
